What's In Season At Gardent Farms

We grow over a hundred varieties of seasonal flowers and botanicals including (but not limited to) zinnas, strawflowers, sunflowers, celosia, and snapdragons. We grow our flowers on our family farm in Milford, New Hampshire from the highest quality seeds using sustainable practices. The majority of our blooms will be available from late June through September. Contact us for inquires about current availability.

While we accept requests for specific types of flowers for special orders and floral services, we strive to use only what we grow and be creative with what we have in the field and what we can forage on our 60 acre woods.

Sunflowers

We grow multiple varieties of sunflowers that range in color from bright yellow to deep red. Our sunflowers are pollenless and have excellent vase life.

Zinnas

Zinnias are the workhorse of our gardens. We primarily grow Benary's Giant and Oklahoma varieties in a wide range of colors.

Snapdragons

Snap dragons are our earliest bloomers and flower beautifully in the early summer and early fall.

Cosmos

Cosmos add an airy magic to flower arrangments. our cosmos bloom beautifully on long strong stems. Cosmos are avaiable throughtout the summer and into the fall.

Strawflowers

Strawflowers are gorgeous fresh or dried. They are long-lasting and retain their color beautifully. You'll fall in love with these unique flowers.

Celosia

Celosia is a whimsical and versatile bloom. We grow multiple varieties including Cockscomb, Pampus Plume, Flamingo, Feather, and more.

Ageratum

Also known as floss flower for its floss-like petals, the tiny blooms resemble fluffy pompoms. 
Useful as a filler in floral arrangements, adding color and texture to showcase more dramatic flowers. Ageratum is used to symbolize politeness.

Amaranth

A bushy robust herb that grows up to 5' tall, with stems and leaves ranging from dark greens and reds to purple. The tiny flowers bloom in cascading clusters, creating a “weeping,” waterfall effect. May be used fresh or dried. Amaranthus flowers are used to symbolize unfading attraction.

White Dill

Flowers appear in early to mid-summer on distinctive umbrella-shaped heads that hold clusters of tiny yellow-green flowers. The flowers resemble those of a close relative, the lovely Queen Anne’s Lace, as they have a similar shape and lacy texture.Historically, the dill flower symbolizes happiness, wealth, and passion. It is thought to bring good luck and was even used in ancient times to ward off evil.

Dara

Dara has attractive umbelliferous flowers that are white before opening. They turn pale pink when open and subsequently burgundy as the flowerhead closes.The annual summer blooming flower is also known as the wild carrot. These flowers symbolize sanctuary, purity, protection, and good health.

Aster

The meaning of the aster flower is wisdom, faith, and valor. It is considered to be a sacred flower in ancient Greek culture. It was considered to be faster due to its star-like shape. Aster is one of the most gorgeous flowers found around the globe and it is very eye-pleasing. Aster has sharp leaves which look really attractive. Many countries like China, India, and Persia considered these flowers pure and were often associated with brides in ancient times. Aster is considered to be a symbol of love and hope.

Bee Balm

Valued in ornamental plantings for its scarlet blooms that attract bees, hummingbirds and beneficial insects
Bee balm is simply named for its ability to soothe bee stings.

Borage

Also known as starflowers, borage flowers are small purple, white, or blue blooms with a star shape. They are edible and are widely used in foods and drinks. They also have some traditional medicinal uses in herbalism, in addition to symbolizing courage and bravery.

Green Gold Bupleurum

With its expansive flowering stems and vibrant, cheery green hue, Bupleurumwill add charm and interest to any floral design recipe, no matter the season.

Calendula

In a garden setting Calendula repels insects, which gives it a protective meaning. It’s also an edible petal, so when you want to internalize the energy of Marigolds, you can toss them into salad or soups. The taste is tangy, and the bright color certainly makes a feast for the eyes.

Carthamus

It was used in folklore to attract and "catch" good luck and love. It was commonly used as a gift to attract a new lover or marriage. The yellow blooms were also associated with happiness and good luck. This made carthamus flowers an important part of folklore meanings.

Centaurea (Cornflower)

Having a cornflower in the bouquet, whether fresh or dry, symbolizes wish on the part of the newly wedded couple. Such wish includes long-lasting marriage filled with good fortune for all parties involved, It is as a sign of reward to the groom’s devotion to the love of his life, as well.
